2018 Impreza Brings Improved Tech, Safety Features

Subaru’s 2018 Impreza builds on the success of a new, roomier body introduced in 2017 by adding automatic activated headlights for enhanced safety.

High-end models feature Subaru’s navigation system with turn-by-turn instructions to take the stress out of driving in unfamiliar places.

Under the Hood

All 2018 Imprezas come standard with a 2-liter, four-cylinder Boxer engine that delivers 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque.

Depending on models, the 2018 Impreza comes standard with either a five-speed manual transmission or a Lineartronic continuously variable automatic transmission with seven-speed manual function controlled via steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Subaru engineers equipped all 2018 Imprezas with all-wheel-drive for superior cornering performance as well as an added layer of safety, as the system automatically transfers power between wheels to maintain traction on slippery or loose driving surfaces.

Comfort and Convenience

Subaru’s Starlink multimedia system boasts top-end technology such as Bluetooth wireless connectivity for hands-free voice calls, iPod control, smartphone connectivity for mobile app integration and audio streaming, and more.

Starlink connected services include SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance, automatic collision notification, maintenance notifications, a monthly vehicle health report and diagnostic alerts.

The rear seat is split 60/40 for a variety of passenger seating and cargo stowing configurations.

Subaru made safety a top priority when designing the 2018 model and knocked it out of the park by snagging a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety when equipped with certain available features.

Standard features include a full set of airbags, antilock disc brakes, three-point seat belts and a stability/traction control systems that help keep the vehicle on the driver’s intended course.
