The Subaru BRZ was named Edmunds Top Rated Sports Car for 2022.
The second generation of the 2022 BRZ earned top spot for delivering high powered performance and affordability in the sports car market.

Under the hood
The 2022 BRZ is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.4-liter engine that generates 228 hp and 184 Ib-ft of torque. That represents more than a 11% upgrade compared to the first generation BRZ horsepower and almost 16% more torque.
Power from the rear wheels pass through either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Slight modifications have been made internally to the 6-speed manual to make shifting a bit more intuitive. The automatic has a new Sport mode that can rev-match on downshifts.
Engine pistons that shift from side to side improve vehicular balance and allow the sports coupe to run smoothly across its entire rev range.

To determine Top Rated Award winners for the year, Edmunds tests vehicles on road and track, driving more than half a million miles in the process.
