2023 Subaru Crosstrek: Part Vehicle, Part Adventurer

The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek offers all-weather capability, a family-friendly interior and sensory awareness technologies for driving safely in the winter 2023.

Crosstrek features an 8.7-inch raised ground clearance, a symmetrical all-wheel with confident handling on slippery roads and an optimized engine system that is designed to respond well to frigid temperatures.

Subaru offers the Crosstrek in five trim levels: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited and Hybrid.

Under the Hood

Base and premium trims run on 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engines that deliver 152 hp and 145-Ib-ft of torque output.

The horizontal layout and low center of gravity engine help ensure that tires remain firmly on the ground for better balance and reactive handling in cold conditions.

Subaru offers a 7-speed manual or an optional Continuously Variable Transmission. Opting for CVT includes the dual-function X-Mode—a preset selection of driving conditions that control engine output, transmission, AWD torque split and the braking system.

Deep snow settings reduce the time needed for a wheel to recapture traction loss and regain forward momentum; by redirecting force to wheels that have better traction. X-Mode also turns on Hill Descent Control which allows the Crosstrek to go down icy inclines without using the brakes---which can cause vehicles to skid out of control.

Comfort and convenience

Entry-level features carry a 6.5-inch infotainment touchscreen, a four-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, USB port and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

Cargo room is 20.8 cubic feet of space behind the second row and 55.3 cubic feet with back seats folded down. A wide rear gate opening—with a built-in cargo area is a good place to hide gifts from the kids during Christmas travel.

Standard raised roof rails and racking accessories provide additional cargo-carrying flexibility to bring along skis, snowboards and hiking gear for winter road trips.

Safety

Dropping temperatures can affect tire pressure, steering and tire performance. Subaru’s Tire Pressure Monitoring system helps drivers maintain proper inflation while traveling through icy climates.

The 2023 Crosstrek carries standard Eyesight Driver Assist Technology for potential hazards during winter driving.

CVT-only Crosstrek models carry:

  • Automatic Pre-Collision Braking
  • Pre-Collision Throttle Management
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Lane Departure and Sway Warning
  • Lead Vehicle Start Alert

All models include seven airbags: driver and front passenger frontal airbags, side curtain airbags, pelvis/torso airbags and driver’s knee bags.

Rear Seat Reminder reminds drivers to check their rear seats for child or pet entrapment before exiting
