2023 Subaru Outback Packed For Autumn Adventure

The 2023 Outback gets a restyled exterior design, accommodating cabin space and a revamped suite of  technologies for additional awareness and safety on the road.

With its higher ground clearance, all-terrain drivability, enormous cargo capacity and family-friendly amenities, the Outback is well-suited for autumn travel.

Under the Hood

Engine options are a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine that generates 182 hp and 176 Ib-ft of torque and a 2.4-liter turbo engine powered by  260 hp and 277 Ib-ft of torque.

All 2023 Outback models are paired with a Lineartronic continuously variable automatic transmission featuring an 8-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters.

Fuel mileage on the 2.4 liter engine is estimated at 23/30 mpg for city/highway driving and has a 3,500-lb towing capacity. The largest capacity ever offered. An optional 2.5-liter engine delivers up to 33 mpg and has a range of up to 600 miles on a single tank of fuel.

Comfort and Convenience

Standard Outback features include a 7-inch multimedia touchscreen, satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth connectivity, an audio system with 4-speakers and twin USB ports.

Other trims offer Wi-Fi hotspot navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 11.6-inch tablet-like center information display, roof rails with integrated crossbars and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system.

The 2023 Outback provides a cargo capacity of 33 cubic feet, increasing to 75.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded. Loading cargo is simpler with an optional Hands-Free Power Rear Gate, which allows automatic open and lock of the entire vehicle with a single touch of the gate button.
