The all-new 2024 Impreza debuts a new powertrain option, sporty styling and the latest version of Subaru’s Eyesight technology. Its 5-door hatchback design and chassis reinforcement offers improved on-road solidity and quiet cabin environment.
Subaru’s compact sedan is available in Base, Sport and a comeback RS model first introduced in 1998. Exclusive RS features include badging on the front doors, carpeted floor mats and rear hatch, advanced LED headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels.
Other additions are heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, aluminum alloy pedals and rear USB charge ports.
Under the Hood
Base and Sport models are equipped with a 2.0-liter engine that produces 152 hp and 145 Ib-ft of torque. The RS model has been upgraded to a 2.5-liter engine which generates 182 hp and 178 Ib-ft torque output.
Sport and RS Imprezas come with 8-speed manual mode complemented by steering wheel paddle shifters that control transmission through eight pre-set ratios.
EPA rating for the 2.5-liter engine is 26 mpg for city drivers and 33 mpg on the freeway. Base and Sport vehicles offer an EPA-estimated 27 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.
All 2024 models offer a 16.6 gallon storage tank compared to 13.2 gallons on previous editions. Base and Sport Imprezas can make fewer stops and travel approximately 500 miles on a full tank.
Also standard across the lineup is a revised Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system that offers extra nimble road handling in slippery conditions.
Comfort and Convenience
Entry-level features include power door locks, welcome lighting and a tire pressure monitoring system with individual wheel display.
Updated climate control system focuses only on occupied seats instead of the entire cabin for maximum comfort and fuel economy. Dual zone heating and cooling control is accessible across the 2024 Impreza range.
An 11.6-inch multimedia plus system is available for the first time on Sport and RS models. The high-resolution touchscreen adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, combination meter integration and on-screen controls for miscellaneous car functions.
Add-ons for the range topping RS trim include a 10-way front driver seat with lumbar support, power moonroof and Harman Kardon 10-speaker premium system.
Safety
All 2024 Impreza models offer the latest generation of Eyesight Driver Assist Technology.
A software boost allows the system to process on-road movements faster under a wide range of driving conditions. Improvements also add an electric brake booster and two cameras for an expansive view of the road ahead.
Subaru provides Automatic Emergency Steering on models including BlindSpot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. AES assists with steering control and helps the Impreza avoid collisions at speeds less than 50 mph.
Standard safety features include:
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- Lane Departure Warning
- Automatic Emergency Steering
- Blind Spot Warning with Lane Keeping Assist
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Rear-Cross Traffic Alert
