Annual Benefit Event Helps Local Animal Shelters, Charities

Subaru celebrates 15 years of giving back on behalf of  customers with the annual  Share the Love Event. The 2022 philanthropic event marks a milestone for the automaker and its core belief in helping those in need through charitable efforts.

Beneficiaries include The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Make-A-Wish, Meals on Wheels America, the National Park Foundation and a cross-section of local charities.

"We strive to make the world a better place all year round, but especially during the holiday season through the Share the Love Event," said Thomas J. Doll, president of Subaru.

"Our customers want to give back and do more for the causes they are passionate about."

For any new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased from Elk Grove Subaru, Subaru will donate $250 to the purchaser's charity of choice.  Furthermore, with every routine vehicle service visit throughout the campaign period, Elk Grove Subaru gets to donate $5 to their hometown charities.

Since 2008, The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has received over $33 million in donations to rescue, transport and care for  high-rise animals.

In 2021, the not-for-profit organization collaborated with Subaru to distribute nearly $600,000 in grant funding to 153 animal welfare organizations.

The funding supported essential services for animals, including adoptions, vaccinations and surgeries.

“The Subaru Share the Love Event demonstrates what is possible when compassionate communities, individuals, animal shelters and Subaru retailers join forces to help vulnerable animals access critical services and find safe and loving homes," said Matt Bershadker, president at ASPCA.

"This long standing partnership has assisted more than 100,000 animals to date—a significant milestone we are thrilled to celebrate."
