Under the Hood
The 2020 Subaru Forester is available in five trims. There’s Base, Premium, Sport, Limited and Touring. Each of these trims gets paired with Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and a 2.5-liter, direct-injection Subaru BOXER engine producing 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. This engine is paired with a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission.
Trailer stability assist comes standard with every 2020 Subaru Forester, and the vehicle can tow up to 1,500 pounds.
Comfort & Convenience
A laundry list of standard features accompanies every 2020 Forester. Among these are the Subaru STARLINK multimedia system that features a high-resolution touchscreen and integration with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Dual USB ports reside in the center console, while the driver’s window includes an auto-up/auto-down feature. Remote keyless entry is also standard, along with a security system that can immobilize the engine.
The Tire Pressure Monitoring System has also been updated for 2020. This improvement not only informs the driver when a tire has low air pressure, it tells them which tire has the problem.
Safety
Subaru’s STARLINK Safety Plus package comes with enhanced roadside assistance, automatic collision notification and SOS emergency assistance, as well as maintenance notifications and monthly vehicle health reports and diagnostic alerts for the first three years of ownership.
Those looking for enhanced safety and security may opt for the STARLINK Safety Plus & Security Plus package, which includes everything on the Safety Plus Package, along with remote engine start, stolen vehicle recovery service, remote lock/unlock and a vehicle locator. Parents of young drivers should appreciate the ability to set boundary, speed and curfew alerts.
