Subaru vehicles recently received 2023 “5-Year Cost to Own” awards from Kelley Blue Book.
The awards recognized the 2023 Outback, 2023 Forester, 2023 Ascent, 2023 BRZ and 2023 Impreza as vehicles with the lowest projected ownership costs in their respective segments.
“We are thrilled to receive the 2023 Kelley Blue Book 5-Year Cost to Own Award for Ascent, BRZ, Forester, Impreza and Outback. These awards reinforce our commitment to providing customers with vehicles made to the highest standards of safety, reliability, dependability and value,” said Jeff Walters, president at Subaru.
Compact SUV class
Forester secured first prize in the compact SUV class. Outback won in the two-row SUV category and Ascent was picked as the leading three-row midsize SUV for car shoppers.
The 2023 BRZ was named as the top sports car and the 2023 Impreza was picked as the ideal vehicle in KKB’s compact car segment.
Kelley Blue Book’s award for the 2023 model year was the second triumph in a row for the BRZ and the first ever honor for the Impreza.
Ascent and Outback recorded wins in 2021 and 2022 in their individual categories, while it was the fourth consecutive accolade for the Forester.
Budget Friendly
The 5-Year Cost to Own Awards help potential car owners make enlightened purchase decisions for vehicles that meet their needs or fit budget projections.
To select this year’s winners, KKB calculated total ownerships by reviewing ongoing costs like fuel, maintenance, repairs, financing, insurance and vehicle depreciation.
“Many car shoppers would be shocked if they understood that cost of ownership can vary in staggering amounts from one vehicle to the next, potentially to the tune of thousands of dollars over time. Paying attention to a vehicle’s cost of ownership is imperative towards making a smart business decision,” said Janice Yoell, manager at Kelley Blue Book.
