Subaru’s 2021 Ascent, Crosstrek Hybrid, Forester and Legacy all received top honors from PARENTS Magazine for Best Family Cars in 2021.
Every year the magazine acknowledges the top minivans, SUVs and sedans for families based on high-tech performance, safety and convenience features.

With safety a must-have priority every summer, the 2021 Ascent, Crosstrek Hybrid, Forester and Legacy comes with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology that includes Automatic Pre-Collision Braking and Throttle Management Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure and Sway Warning.
The four models come standard-equipped with Subaru’s legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive plus the hi-tech resolution touchscreen media system for smartphone integration for Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and audio streaming.
2021 Subaru Ascent
The 2021 Ascent earned top honors for the “Best for Road Trips” in the 3-row category.
This family SUV is equipped with LATCH points capable of installing five child seats; three in the second row and two in the third row.
It comes with 86.5 cubic feet of cargo space and a towing capacity of 5,000-Ib enough for an outfitted canoe, kayak, bicycles or a small boat.
A standard Front and Rear Passenger Seatbelt Reminder prompts occupants to buckle up and alerts the driver to check rear seats before stepping out of the vehicle.
2021 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid
The Crosstrek Hybrid was named “Best Hybrid” in the 2-row SUV category for offering a 480-mile range on a single tank. This makes it the most fuel-efficient Subaru SUV ever manufactured.
Subaru’s plug-in SUV also impressed with its ability to sit three occupants in the back seat with an infant seat behind the driver and a narrow booster in the middle position.
A 10-year subscription SUBARU STARLINK Safety and Security package comes with automatic collision warnings, maintenance notifications, monthly car health reports, diagnostic alerts and SOS emergency assistance.
2021 Subaru Forester
The 2021 Forester was acknowledged as the “Best for Road Trips” in the 2-row SUV category.
All trim levels come with LED Steering Responsive Headlights and High Beam Assist. A Front and Rear Passenger Seatbelt Reminder in form of an activated icon and dash chime prompts all passengers to buckle up before getting on the road.
Latch points in the rear seat allow 2 child seats to be installed securely in outboard side positions. PARENTS highly recommend installing a rear-facing seat on the side of the person who is shorter.
A roomy cargo space of up to 76.1 cubic feet is available if rear backseats are lowered.
The Driver Focus Distraction Mitigation System uses facial recognition technology and a dedicated near-infrared camera to unravel signs of driver distraction and fatigue. The system provides visual and audio warnings.
2021 Subaru Legacy
The 2021 Subaru Legacy was named ‘Best-All-Weather” for family sedans because of the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Active Torque Vectoring makes it comfortable to drive in all conditions.
All Legacy trim levels are equipped with LED Steering Responsive Headlights, High Beam Assist as well as Front and Rear Passenger Seatbelt Reminder.
The 2.5-liter engine is fitted with Auto Start-Stop for fuel efficiency and goes up to 35 mpg on the highway. EyeSight Assist Monitor provides a heads up display of warnings and car status on the windshield.
